 REFLECTION 

Experience

Throughout this module, the experience has been both challenging and enlightening. Starting with the overview of the modules and selecting our area of specialization, I felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. Researching articles and rationales behind our selections was a meticulous process, but it was rewarding to see my research topics taking shape. The initial difficulty in finding interviewees for my chosen topic prompted a necessary reassessment, which broadened my perspective on research adaptability. The step-by-step guidance from Ms. Anis and the structured tasks provided a clear path, culminating in the creation and submission of Google Forms, critical reviews, and presentation slides. Each task was a building block that reinforced my understanding and capability in research methodology.

Observation

One key observation from this module is the importance of flexibility and thorough planning in research. Initially, I faced challenges in finding suitable interviewees due to the specific target audience of the elderly. This situation highlighted the need to be adaptable and consider alternative approaches within the same research domain. Another observation is the value of detailed feedback from lecturers. Ms. Anis' insights were crucial in refining my research approach and ensuring the articles I selected were aligned with my research focus. The process of creating a user-friendly Google Form underscored the significance of good design in data collection tools. Additionally, working through the formatting and structural requirements of the proposal emphasized the necessity of adhering to academic standards.

Findings

The findings from this module have been substantial in shaping my research skills. Firstly, I learned that thorough preparation and flexibility are essential when conducting research, especially when targeting specific demographics. The reassessment of my research topic was a pivotal moment that underscored the need for a feasible approach to data collection. Secondly, the importance of a well-organized and user-friendly data collection tool became evident. Creating sections in the Google Form improved user experience and the quality of responses. Lastly, the critical review process taught me to systematically analyze academic articles, focusing on their methodology, findings, and relevance. This skill is invaluable for constructing a comprehensive literature review and identifying gaps or areas for further research. Overall, the module has equipped me with a solid foundation in research methodology, preparing me for future research endeavors.
