PROJECT 1
Introduction
Purpose :
The purpose of this proposal is to identify weaknesses in the Senheng mobile app’s UI and UX, gather user insights through primary research, and propose solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and engagement. By analyzing competitor apps and focusing on key issues, the proposal aims to create an improvement plan that efficiently utilizes resources to deliver a better user experience.
Background & Context :
- Assess the existing app's design and features
- Highlighting strengths and weaknesses
- Conduct a competitive analysis to understand its positioning in the market
- Gather insights into user demographics and their needs
Goals & Objectives :
- Set specific objectives for the redesign initiative
- Focusing on resolving existing issues and improving user satisfaction
- Define primary and secondary goals that align with user experiences
- Formulate design strategy based on these objectives.
User Research :
- Outline the methodologies for conducting user research
- Develop a comprehensive plan for user testing and validation
I chose the CIMB app, TGV app, and Senheng app for redesign analysis to focus on enhancing user experience and functionality in various sectors. This selection allows for a comprehensive evaluation of how each app meets user needs and identifies specific areas for improvement.
CIMB App
The CIMB app shows poor usability, especially with investment management and setting up recurring payments, which require many steps and screens that can frustrate users. The app is also slow, with long loading times and delays when moving between pages. It often crashes during busy times, making last-minute bookings difficult. The crowded interface has too much information, which can confuse users. Finding common options like transfers or bill payments can be challenging. By fixing these problems, I can create a more user-friendly design for the CIMB app that improves customer satisfaction.
TGV App
The TGV app has major usability issues, especially when users try to find key features like movie times and ticket bookings. The interface lacks clarity, making it hard to navigate, especially with confusing colors and no search function, which makes finding specific movies a hassle. The app is slow, with long loading times and frequent crashes during busy periods, which frustrates users trying to book tickets. By examining these weaknesses, I can suggest ways to make the TGV app easier to use, ensuring that important features are more accessible.
Senheng App
The Senheng app has several problems, including a lack of helpful filters that make it hard for users to find items they’ve seen in stores. It runs slowly, even on new devices, and the absence of clear categories makes browsing tough. The category tabs often show random items instead of organizing products properly, which can be frustrating. The search function also gives confusing results, showing unrelated products or items from other sellers instead of Senheng's stock. By focusing on these issues, I can recommend improvements to the Senheng app, making it easier and more enjoyable for users.
